The vibrato is produced by the unique movements of the player’s hand and arm inter-reacting with the beats in the instrument. Many players are unaware that each instrument produces its own peculiar pattern of beats, and good setting up should adjust these beats within the instrument to be sympathetic to the particular player’s approach. If your vibrato sounds either uncomfortably fast (i.e. rather frenetic) or “wallows” in an exaggerated manner, adjustments can be made to the instrument to match your personal style.
